3. Edit the question
- Add your question here. Use the rich text editor icons to change the text to bold, italics, or use your company's colors and change the font size.
- Click Add media or Add YouTube video to upload images or videos to make your questionnaire more entertaining. The file needs to be under 2MB. To add a YouTube video, paste a YouTube link after you've clicked the Add YouTube video button.
- Make the question mandatory - toggle the button to require respondents to answer the question before moving to the next question.
- Add a question tag - turn this feature to add a tag to your question that you can reference in your survey or PDF.
4. Add the answer options
You've written your question so now it's time to set up your answer options.
- Type your first answer here.
- Add a new answer by clicking Add answer.
- Total value - This is the value that the respondents' answers must add up to. As the respondent enters their answers, this value will update itself to show respondents the current total.
- Total label - This is the wording that will show up next to the total value.
- Add custom validation- toggle to enable the custom validation feature. Read below to see just how this works.
- Add a text box to specify or leave an extra comment - When this feature is switched on, you'll be able to add your own text to ask respondents to give more information.
- Add button to upload an extra image file - This feature allows the respondents to upload their own image files. You can use this feature to make the survey more engaging.
NOTE
Don't forget that respondents' answers will have to add up to the total you've set, so you might want to add a "Miscellaneous" or "Other" answer option at the bottom of your list in case respondents need to use this to make their answers sum to your total.
Activate custom validation to specify a minimum and maximum value that respondents must write. A box for minimum and maximum will appear under the text box for each answer when this feature is activated.
TIP
Use custom validation to ensure that respondents don't give a negative answer, for example.
What's next?
- XY Drag and Drop question is a ranking question that lets you evaluate a particular set of options by dragging them along the X and Y axis, according to your preference. Let your respondents drag and drop items on an XY axis and collect the X, Y coordinates at your responses view.
- The Scratch Card is developed to give away incentives in a fun way. Fill in the percentage of respondents that can win a prize, and let the Scratch Card decide who wins. You can add it as a break in the questions because it's just fun to try it or put real incentives behind the upper layer. By adding incentives you will increase the participation rate.
- Image Choice is used when you ask a multiple choice question and present the possible answers to your respondent by using images or GIFs. Photos in your questionnaire allow you to connect with your audience on a more emotional level and it's proven that people often respond better to a picture.
